Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who has achieved great fame with the stories she recounts about her early heartbreak. Swift's interest in music began at an early stage. From children's plays to singing in front of thousands of people, Swift made rapid progress. Swift was 11 years old when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match. In the following year she started writing her own songs, and also picked up the guitar. Swift created original music which was influenced by country artists such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks) as well as Dixie Chicks. Her material reflected Swift's experiences with tweens being apathetic. Swift's parents relocated her to Tennessee at the age of 13 when they decided to sell their Pennsylvania farm. It allowed Swift to devote more time looking for labels to promote country music in Nashville.
